The win moved Dallas to within six points of the Western Conference lead " something Seattle missed out on with their defeat.

LA Galaxy top the West, goal difference ahead of the Sounders, who lost for the second time in a row.

Uruguay forward Texeira lashed home an angled finish from 12 yards to give Dallas an eighth-minute lead.

Seattle drew level just before the hour-mark in stunning fashion, though, as substitute Lamar Neagle " who had been on the pitch for just one minute " fired in a 25-yard screamer.

Neagle linked nicely with captain Clint Dempsey before hammering into the top-right corner from distance.

The match remained level until the 78th minute, when Texeira " who has scored all three of his goals this season against Seattle " beat Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei again.

Andres Escobar set up the goal, storming to the byline before cutting back for Texiera to tap in from close range.

And Panama's Blas Perez sealed Dallas' win with two minutes left when he netted a header.
