Rangers International FC of Enugu on Wednesday extended by two weeks its screening of players for its Team B.

The screening started on Nov. 16 with 92 players that reported at the Rangers’ Permanent Camp pitch.

The club’s Media Manager, Foster Chime, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu that the extension was to give enough time for the exercise.

“It is also to provide a fair chance to each player that reported for the screening’’.

Chime noted that the club was targeting a minimum of 250 players within the time frame given for the exercise.

“We are targeting 250 players to be screened and given fair chance before the end of the exercise.

“The club’s management believes that the two weeks’ extension will afford the Head Coach of Rangers Team B, Ndubuisi Ajomiwe, time and space to conclude his assignment.

“For now, we are receiving an average of 10 new players each day to the Rangers’ Permanent Camp pitch for screening,’’ he said.

NAN reports that Rangers Team B would act as a reserve for the club to meet its demand for players.

The team will also play state FA Cup; engage in other zonal and national football competitions as a relief to the players in the main team.

Rangers’ main team will represent Nigeria at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League and defend its title in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The club will also participate in the Federation Cup within the 2016/2017 football season
