Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike has refuted reports that he has converted to Islam from Christianity.

The Fenerbahce sparked the reports when he missed team breakfast on Saturday, July 4.

When he was asked why he missed the breakfast, Emenike was said to have told his coach that he was fasting prompting the reports which linked him to the ongoing Muslim Ramadan fasting.

Pulse Sports reached out to the former Spartak Moscow striker who refuted the reports.

"The report that I am now a Muslim is absolute rubbish and false, he told Pulse Sports.

"I don't see anything wrong in fasting during the Muslim fasting period.

"I never told my coach that I was a Muslim, I just told him that I was fasting and fasting ia part of my religion which in Chritianinity."

The striker last weekend had the funeral of his late father in  Imo State.
