The Sodje brothers, Efe, Sam- also a former footballer- Stephen and Bright are being charged for fraudulent activities at their charity, Sodje Sports Foundation (SSF).
A probe by the National Crime Agency found alleged irregularities at the SSF which as a registered charity company has enjoyed tax exemptions and other benefits.
“Four people have been charged with fraud offences after an investigation by the National Crime Agency,” an NCA spokesman is quoted to say by Daily Mail.
“Bright, Efetobore, Samuel and Stephen Sodje were charged with fraudulent trading and bailed until November 14 when they will appear at Westminster Magistrates Court.
'The four were arrested on July 13 after a three-year NCA investigation into alleged irregularities at the Sodje Sports Foundation.”
The Sodje brothers are due in court in November 2016.
Efe has 12 caps for the Super Eagles, having played in the 2000 African Cup of Nations and the 2002 World Cup.
His brother Sam also played for Nigeria.
