Dream Team VI Team jet out to Rio

The Nigerian Dream Team VI will on the night of Tuesday, August 2 jet out to Brazil ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

Coach Samson Siasia and his men have been in a camp in Atlanta, United States where they have been preparing for the Games.

Nigeria’s Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung confirmed that clearance has been received from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to jet out to Brazil for the Games.

The minister has been in the United States where he met with Nigerian football and basketball teams ahead of the Games which begin on August 5.

Dream Team VI are scheduled to Atlanta base around 5.30p.m. (Nigerian time) for the seven-hour flight to the Eduardo Gomes International Airport in Manaus aboard a chartered Private Jet Services jet arranged by the Sports Ministry.

Defender William Troost-Ekong and striker Umar Aminu will not be flying with the team as they have been permitted to join up with the squad from their respective bases in Turkey and Norway.
