Dream Team VI Nigeria U-23 side nominated for CAF National Team of the Year

Nigeria’s U-23 team, Dream Team VI have been nominated for the 2016 CAF National Team of the Year.

The Dream Team VI won bronze at the football event of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The Samson Siasia led team beat Honduras to win bronze at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Also nominated are DR Congo, Guinea-Bissau, Senegal and Uganda.

 

Dream Team player Oghenekaro Etebo grabbed a nomination in the  Most promising Talent category.

Etebo was part of the Nigeria U-23 team that won bronze at the football event of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

He scored four goals in four games.

Other nominees include his compatriot, Kelechi Iheanacho of Manchester CityElia Meshak of DR Congo and TP Mazembe, Naby Keita of Guinea and RB Leipzig, and Ramadan Sobhi Egypt and Stoke City.

The winner will be announced on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at the Glo-CAF Awards night in Abuja.
