A report claims that Cristiano Ronaldo and Rafa Benitez were in disagreement over the target in a long-distance crossbar challenge.
It seems Real Madrid new manager Rafa Benitez and star forward Cristiano Ronaldo are having a hard time working together.
A new video has emerged which shows Ronaldo showing his displeasure at Benitez for disallowing his goal in training.
According to interpretations from Spanish television AS, Ronaldo is heard shouting, saying "Only the fouls by the Portuguese are seen."
AS claims that Ronaldo and Benitez were in disagreement over the target in a long-distance crossbar challenge.
With players needing to hit the frame of the goal before they could finish the session, Ronaldo could be heard making the point that the idea was to get the ball under the bar, ‘not this sh*t.'
Benitez however played down the situation at a press conference later, saying his relationship with the three times Ballon 'Or winner is fine.
"My relationship with him is as it is with the other players. I speak a lot with all of them. It’s absolutely normal," Benitez said.
"He is very competitive and that is a virtue, not a defect."
All eyes will be on relationship between the duo as Ronaldo is said to be unhappy over the sacking of former coach Carlo Ancelotti.
The former Manchester United forward tweeted his support for Anceloti after last season, writing on Twitter: "Great coach and amazing person. Hope we work together next season."
The message however did not stop the club from firing the manager after a trophyless season.
