Manchester United are said to be eyeing Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke to replace Robin van Persie
Manchester United are reportedly ready to swoop for Aston Villa want away striker, Christian Benteke.
The striker wants to play European football and Liverpool have been readying an offer for the £32.5million rated Belgian.
Manchester United however are said to be monitoring the situation as they look to replace Robin van Persie who has left to Fenerbahce.
Louis van Gaal is currently looking for a striker and has decided to look in the way of Benteke as the prospect of landing his his first choice target Robert Lewandowski seem dim.
The Old Trafford outfit have already brought in Matteo Darmian, Memphis Depay, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin but want a striker before as back-up to captain Wayne Rooney.
Benteke seems to have indicated his interest in moving to United as he favourited a tweeted which suggests that he will be playing second fiddle to Rooney at Manchester United.
Liverpool however remain favourite for now to get the 24-year-old.
