2014 African Woman Footballer of the Year, Asisat Oshoala has come out strongly against some media reports attributed to former General Secretary of then Nigeria Football Association, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi that she is a secondary school drop-out and should go back for completion.

The Ikorodu born footballer opened up the journey through her education, stating that she simply halted her tertiary education due to distance.

''To start with, I did not drop out of high school. I finished my secondary education in Lagos.

''I just temporarily stopped my education at Lagos state Polytechnic due to distance after moving from FC Robo (Lagos) to Rivers Angels (Rivers state).

''So I did not drop-out of secondary school or stop my education plans. Above all, I really appreciate his advice and would definitely go further to the highest level to achieve my dream in that area.’’
