Martial is the first Manchester United player to win the month plaque since Robin van Persie picked it up in April 2013
Anthony Martial’s sensational start to life in Manchester United continues as he has been named the Barclays Premier League Player of the Month for September.
The 19-year-old joined Manchester United on transfer deadline day from Monaco for an initial £36million and scored three goals in the month.
He came off the bench to score a fantastic solo goal on his debut against Manchester United rivals, Liverpool.
Martial is the first Manchester United player to win the month plaque since Robin van Persie picked it up in April 2013.
This is the second Player of the Month award he has picked up for the month of September.
He was voted the Sky Sports’ PFA Fans’ Player of the Month.
He was however beaten by Juan Mata who was voted Manchester United’s player of the month award.
Mata pipped Martial by just two per cent of votes from fans.
