Super Eagles media officer Ibitoye confirmed the passing of the 85-year-old Patricia who died on Monday.
The Super Eagles official Twitter account shared a condolence message for Alloy Agu.
“We commiserate with Coach Alloy Agu, our goalkeepers' trainer over the loss of his mum, Ma Patricia Agu. May her soul Rest In Peace,” the message read.
Super Eagles media officer Toyin Ibitoye confirmed the passing of the 85-year-old Patricia who died about 4 pm on Monday.
Burial arrangements for Ma Patricia will be revealed soon.
Pa Patricia Agu gave birth to Alloy Agu in 1967, about 50 years ago in Lagos.
Alloy Agu was born in Lagos and was the Super Eagles number one goalkeeper for the 1990 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) where they lost in the final to Algeria.
He later lost his place in the Super Eagles XI to Peter Rufai and was also part of the squad for 1994 AFCON and FIFA World Cup.
He retired at the age of 30 after being part of the Super Eagles squad for France 1998 and went on to become a coach.
He has served as the goalkeeping coach for Enyimba and has been part of the Super Eagles coaching crew since April 2008.
