Pinnick in Equatorial Guinea for the kick-off of the Nations Cup where he will serve as commissioner in two group games.
To fulfill appointed role at the 30th African Cup of Nations beginning this Saturday in Equatorial Guinea, president of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pinnick has left the football house on Wednesday and subsequently flown into the Central African nation.
A statement from the NFF on Wednesday confirmed his absence and delegation of temporary authority to the first vice president Seyi Akinwunmi: “I will be away to the Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea from 16th January – 9th February, 2015 on the invitation of CAF and in official capacity.
“The First Vice President, Mr. Seyi Akinwunmi should thus oversee the workings of the Office of the President for the period I will be away. All official correspondence should be channeled to him.”
Pinnick is appointed by CAF to serve as match commissioner in two group games at the tournament.
