New Ebola Case Confirmed In Port Harcourt

The Health Minister has said that a new case of the disease has been recorded in Port Harcourt

Another case of Ebola has been recorded in Nigeria, the Health Minister, Onyebuchi Chukwu said today, September 1, 2014.

The new patient is a female who was in the Good Heart hospital at the same time as infected doctor, Iyke Sam Enemuo. He died on August 22, 2014.

Enemuo was infected with the disease by ECOWAS diplomat, Olu-Ibukun Koye who made contact with index case, Patrick Sawyer but fled quarantined and travelled to the oil rich city.

"Two other contacts of the late Port Harcourt doctor, one of the doctors who managed him and a pharmacy technician working in the doctor's hospital, are symptomatic and have been admitted to the isolation ward in Rivers”

5 Nigerians have so far died of the disease since the first case was confirmed in July.
