8 Bible verses on letting go of the past

They become miserable, cunning, selfish, greedy, and blame it on the past or people in their past, saying, “I am this way because of how that person mistreated me or what so, so and so did to me.”

God wants us to know that the past has no power over us and that we can let go of it because we have been renewed by his love, and redeeming grace.

So, rather than changing negatively because of our unfair past, we should only show God's works in us by saying, “I am nice, smart, forgiving, sweet, so forth, because of Christ’s love and forgiveness in my life.”

"It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." (Galatians 2:20)

In spite of this, Joseph still chose to let go of the past, even giving the glory to God, showing that the past can be overcome with the grace of God, which is all we really need.
