God is in everyone

2 Corinthians 13:5 - "....Examine yourselves [not me]! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves [by an ongoing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you?"

This is usually followed with 'how can God exist and allow all these bad things to exist?' or 'does God exist in murderers, rapists, and people, who commit abominable acts?'

Well, the answer to this question is that God lives and is present in all of us, regardless of what you do or say.

In 2 Corinthians 13:5, Paul says, "Test and evaluate yourselves to see whether you are in the faith and living your lives as [committed] believers. Examine yourselves [not me]! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves [by an ongoing experience] that —unless indeed you fail the test and are rejected as counterfeit?"

This confirms that God is within all of us, however, He might only be visible in believers, who manifest His presence in their lives.

Pope Francis has also confirmed this with this quote, "I have a dogmatic certainty: God is in every person's life. God is in everyone's life. Even if the life of a person has been a disaster, even if it is destroyed by vices, drugs or anything else - God is in this person's life. You can - you must - try to seek God in every human life."

Little wonder, Jesus Christ urged us to be kind towards strangers in Matthew 25:34-40.

“I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger, and you took me into your home. I needed clothes, and you gave me something to wear. I was sick, and you took care of me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’ “Then the people who have God’s approval will reply to him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you or see you thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you as a stranger and take you into our homes or see you in need of clothes and give you something to wear? When did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ “The king will answer them, ‘I can guarantee this truth: Whatever you did for one of my brothers or sisters, no matter how unimportant they seemed, you did for me.’

The truth is that God is everywhere and in all of us. Whether we choose to accept Him and manifest is left to us.

We show His presence in us when we are nice to people, even when they are mean, wicked or simply terrible to us.

Others get to see the God in us through our words, actions, way of living.

Thus, it is important for Christians to remember that we are ambassadors, as such we have to be Christlike in every situation.

No matter what the situation is, let us remember that God exists in all of us and it is our duty, as His children, to showcase this.
