Live intentionally, nobody is promised tomorrow!

No, I am not a pastor or minister or anything like that. What I am is a growing believer moved to share my discoveries about God, and this thing called life with you.

We should all live intentionally

Luke 12:16-20 says, "And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’

“Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I’ll say to myself, “

“But God said to him, ‘ Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’

I'm reminded of this verse every time I am tempted to do something that will not improve my spiritual life.

Sometimes, it's like I can hear the better version of myself say, 'really Inem, you are going to act like the rich fool? What if you die now, without the chance to ask for forgiveness? You know you are going to hell, right?

I know that might be a little morbid for some people but things like that force me to live intentionally.

What does it mean to live intentionally?

It means everything is done with a decision, and not left to chance.

It means that we are grateful for everything from the second we are awake, we are grateful to be alive, grateful to be in good health, to have roofs over our heads, jobs, clothes, a God and people who love us.

It means that we are so grateful for these things that we are determined to show our gratitude by putting all our efforts into pleasing God and living for Him.

We do not just let things happen, we make the effort required to ensure that we are living lives that are pleasing to God.

Ephesians 5:15Look carefully then how you walk!   and  and  not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people)”

I know that it can be so tempting to live as though we have all the time in the World to do God's work, to do the right thing, essentially make ourselves useful on earth.

But the truth is that we really don't. No one is promised anything, which is why it is so important to take advantage of each second, minute, hour, day, week, month and year.

As Christians, we have no choice but to live intentionally simply because we know better than to act like the rich fool. We know better than to take God's grace, mercy, salvation and love for granted.

1 Peter 1:18-19 says, “You must inherited by tradition from [your] forefathers, not with corruptible things [such as] silver and gold,

Lets move away from the religious angle, and look at things 'logically.'

Imagine a world where people lived like everyday was their last day on earth, where there were no excuses, where no one said things like 'I will do it tomorrow.'

Don't you think things would be better, that we would be pushing ourselves, forcing ourselves to use our potential?

I think that is a great world to be in, and that is the kind of place I would love to live in.

Lets all stop making excuses and behaving like the rich fool, who thought he had tomorrow.

We don't have tomorrow, we are not even promised the next second.

So, lets act like it and we can become the people God created us to be.
