On this day, Muslims turned out to pray and break the month-long fast (Ramadan), with lots of food.

While over 50,000 Muslims shut down a street in Australia, and President Muhammadu Buhari held a 2-Raka’at Eid el-Fitr prayer, soldiers in Borno state also joined in the celebrations.

The soldiers took time off their active duty to say their Eid prayers, with their guns, close by.
