"My girlfriend refuses to cut ties with her ex, should I dump her?"

I feel because of him she is not giving me the kind of attention I need from her.

Relationship Talk

My last relationship ended about 6 months ago before I met this girl or rather before she met me.

She's someone I had gone to school with some years ago but we never really talked back then.

She found me on Facebook and we started talking and been talking for about 4 months now.

We're working on getting very serious but I realise she was in a relationship before we met.

The issue I have is that she says she wants to break up with the guy because he's not exactly what she wants, that she's been with him because he came for her after she got out of a very bad relationship.

She keeps telling me I should give her time to sort things out with the guy but I keep wondering how long it will take.

I told her specifically that by the end of this year, I need to know her stand because I would love to settle down next year.

Please what do you think I should do, I know in my heart that I love her because she's the kind of woman I have always wanted._____________________

Hello,

The answer to this is quite simple in my opinion.

Going by the details you provided, I think you are doing everything just right.

It is understandable that the girl might be feeling a little emotional about breaking the guy's heart just like that; so I completely concur with you giving her all the time she needs.

However, as much as you want to afford her time to break ties with the other guy, you also want to be sure that your interest is being very well protected, which is why that deadline you set is a very wise move.

I think all you need now is to stay in contact and remain very patient with her in your words and deeds before the elapsing of the date you set.

Seeing that she is the type of woman you really want to keep in your life, I advise that you continue being sweet to her, and doing all the lovey-dovey stuff a boyfriend is expected to do for his girlfriend.

Hopefully, this moves her to break that tie and concentrate on you alone.
