"I will turn your darkness to light," Oke tells communities

Candidate of the AD, Olusola Oke has promised to replace darkness with light in several communities if elected as Ondo State governor.

Chief Olusola Oke

Oke made the promise on Sunday, during his campaign rally in Igbokoda, in Ilaje Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

He also promised to complete all abandoned projects of the present administration, if given the nod to govern the state.

“There is no doubt that the oil rich southern district of the state has been deliberately neglected by the present administration in order to impoverish the people.

“The picture of the agony of joblessness, huge debt burden, poor infrastructure and the state of hopelessness that hovers around the state dominates my thought.

“We will complete all abandoned projects and restore electricity back to the six LGA’s that have been disconnected from the national grid for over three years now to restore people back to their normal life if elected as governor,” he said.

He mentioned Olokola Free Trade Zone in Igbokoda, the Ondo State University of Science and Technology in Okitipupa, the Omotoso Power Plant, Omotoso, Cassava Processing Company, Ikoya, Irele-Ayeka/Okitipupa and Igbokoda-Ugbonla roads as being abandoned.

Oke listed the six LGA’s in the southern district that had been in darkness for three years as Odigbo, Ile Oluji/Okeigbo, Okitipupa, Irele, Ilaje and Ese-Odo.

The candidate said reports that he was arrested by security agencies over alleged unlawful possession of fire arms were untrue and were fabricated by his political detractors.

“The campaign of calumny peddled against us is only making us more popular and God will surely see us through to win this election,” he said.

He urged his supporters not to jettison their love for him, charging them to troop out to vote for him on Saturday.

NAN reports that Oke’s running mate, Ganny Dauda, and other top shots in the AD were present at the rally after touring Mahin, Etikan, Ugbonla and other towns in Ilaje, and seeking blessings from royal fathers.
