Angry youths in Akure have been called on by the APC to embrace peace and maintain law and order despite their grievances.

The APC made the appeal on October 28, 2016 following the violence that erupted in Akure over the recognition of Jimoh Ibrahim as the Governorship candidate of the PDP by INEC.
The ruling party has appealed to residents of the state to maintain peace and order irrespective of their grievances.
In a statement by APC Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Adesanya, the party decried the wanton destruction of government properties in Akure by some supporters of PDP over the INEC’s decision.
“We passionately appeal to residents and supporters of PDP to maintain peace and order in the interest of Ondo State.
“Election should not be a do-or-die syndrome,’’ Adesanya said.
Adesanya also condemned the destruction of public properties and the prevention of law-abiding residents from engaging in their lawful businesses by the protesters.
Adesanya, therefore, advised the two factions in Ondo PDP, Ibrahim and Jegede, to tread with caution; obey the rule of law; and seek legal redress in court if aggrieved on any issue.
