“PDP did everything to nourish democracy”

According to Agbaje, the PDP nurtured Nigeria’s democracy during its 16 year rule, but the APC is taking the opposite path.

Agbaje made the comment via a statement issued by his media aide, Felix Oboagwina on Wednesday, August 17, 2016.

The statement reads in part:

“PDP did everything to nourish democracy. But it is obvious that the ruling party does not want a viable opposition.”

“APC must realise that without a thriving opposition, democracy cannot survive.”

Agbaje was reacting to the postponement of the PDP convention due to the blocking of the original venue by security agencies.

Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose and former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode have also blamed the crisis on the APC led administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
