The PDP factional Chairman, Sunday Fagbemi and his supporters stormed the secretariat early in the morning, reports say.
Fagbemi alleged that the other PDP faction's chairman, Akogun Oyedepo, has not been loyal to the party.
According to Premium Times, he said Oyedepo is a spy for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Fagbemi also claimed that the party’s national committee recognised him as the leader of the party in the state.
In a swift reaction Oyedepo, who according to reports, was in Abuja for a PDP meeting when the incident occurred, wondered what Fagbemi was doing in Ilorin if he was the bonafide party Chairman.
Also, the Publicity Secretary of the Oyedepo faction of the PDP, Rex Olawoye, told newsmen that his boss remains the recognised Chairman.
He also described the action of Fagbemi’s faction as a coup and an invitation to chaos and anarchy.
Industry observers say the power tussle between Ahmed Makarfi and Ali Modu Sheriff will trickle down and shatter more state formations.
Speaking on the crisis that has rocked the PDP, the former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, says it is an indication that the party is strong.
