The administrators of Igalamela-Odolu; Ogori-Magongo; Ijumu; Kabba-Bunu and Okehi local government areas were recalled by the Assembly.
According to reports, the lifting of the suspension is coming after an interim report of the House Joint Committee on Public Accounts, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, mandated to investigate the allegations.
Chairman of the committee, Musa Jimoh-Omiata (PDP-Yagba East), said that the committee observed that documentation and records keeping at the council levels were very poor.
“They must ensure compliance with all the provisions of the Local Government Law 2000, as amended.
“They must keep good records of their accounts and be ready to forward same on request,” he said.
According to him, the committee recommended that the council administrators should be urged to be more dedicated to their duties, ensure proper updating of account books.
He said that they must also ensure that they spend adequate time in their areas of jurisdiction in order to attend to their official responsibilities.
