Muslims in Ekiti set for a showdown with Gov.

Adding that severe punishment from Allah, will befall any Muslim that receives the Governor’s Sallah gifts.

Following alleged marginalisation of Muslims by the Ekiti state Gov., Ayo Fayose, Muslim clerics in the state are set for a show down with the Governor.

The League of Imams and Alfas, rising from a meeting, have issued a statement calling on Muslim faithfuls to reject any gift given to them during the Sallah celebrations, by the Governor.

The statement said “Based on the above, the League, Ekiti State Council hereby resolve that: No Muslim in the State should collect rams and other food items if presented to them in any form by the government.”

This is coming on the heels of the statement issued by the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and National Council of Muslim Youth Organisation, Ekiti State, accusing Fayose of marginalising Muslims in the state.
