Former governor of Gombe State, Sen. Danjuma Goje, has called on Nigerians to be patient with the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, added that the pains they are currently facing are just for a while.

Danjuma Goje - Former Governor of Gombe state.

Goje, one of the three senators representing Gombe State in the National Assembly, made this assertion in Kaduna on Saturday, May 28, 2016 during the 30 days prayers for the late mother of Sen. Shehu Sani.

The former governor, who acknowledged the suffering Nigerians are going through in this period, said, “While going through the tunnel, it certainly will be dark and almost unbearable but we call on fellow Nigerians to be patient and let us pass through this necessary period now for a better tomorrow.”

“Most times, if you go to a doctor, if that doctor must attend to you properly, you will need to exercise a lot of patience because there might be the need for him to open you up. I mean there will be the need for him to carry out serious surgical operation on you.”

“Now if the doctor sees the need to carry out surgical operation on you, he will first of all have to tear your body and that will cause you pains. I know that such period or process is surely painful. For Nigeria and Nigerians, this is our surgical period so, let us all endure the pains which is for a while. These measures Mr. President has taken will temporarily be discomforting but it is only for a short while God willing,” Goje said.

Goje who said Nigerians are beginning to appreciate the change even though they expected it to happen added that within the period of one year, Nigerians coming to terms with the positive change that has taken place and those that will take place in no distant time whether in the states or at the federal level.

“We all know that in Nigeria great changes are taking place gradually but positively, and we appreciate that no matter the difficulties that we face now, these difficulties are inevitable. At the end of the day, there is light at the end of the tunnel.”
