The Nigerian Senate has cleared former Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi to serve as a minister in President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet.

Fayemi was the second nominee to be cleared by the Senate after Senator Udo Udoma was asked to take a bow before the legislators.

The former governor was queried on the debt profile of Ekiti State during his tenure and also on allegations that he spent N50 million on a bed while in office.
Fayemi also shared with the legislators his thoughts on Nigeria’s foreign policy and steps to be taken to reform the education sector.
