Senate clears Kayode Fayemi

Fayemi was the second nominee to be cleared by the Senate after Senator Udo Udoma was asked to take a bow before the legislators.

The Nigerian Senate has cleared former Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi to serve as a minister in President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet.

Fayemi was screened today, October 13, 2015, after being nominated by Buhari on September 30.

He was the second nominee to be cleared by the Senate after Senator Udo Udoma was asked to take a bow before the legislators.

The former governor was queried on the debt profile of Ekiti State during his tenure and also on allegations that he spent N50 million on a bed while in office.

Fayemi also shared with the legislators his thoughts on Nigeria’s foreign policy and steps to be taken to reform the education sector.
