In the wake of the xenophobic attacks in South Africa, thousands of immigrants have been forcefully evicted from their homes and have also abandoned their business.

Earlier on, many had sought refuge in their various countries' high commissions and also police stations. However, a camp Internally Displaced refugees has now been set up and currently hosts over 1,000 people including  children and pregnant women.

The camp, housing displaced immigrants from all over Africa including Nigeria, was set up next to the Primrose Hill Police station in Germiston, downtown Johannesburg.
