Talensi decides today

Eight political parties have been cleared to contest in the Talensi constituency by-election

 

Thirty-nine thousand five hundred and twenty-three (39,523) eligible voters in the Talensi constituency of the Upper East Region are voting today in the Talensi by-election at 74 polling stations.

After a week of intense campaigning, the people of Talensi will today, [Tuesday] head to the polls to elect a new Member of Parliament (MP) to represent them in Ghana’s Legislature.

Eight political parties have been cleared to contest in the Talensi constituency by-election slated for July 7, 2015.

According to the Upper East Regional Chairman of the Commission, James Arthur Yeboah, all the necessary materials to be used for the voting exercise such as ballot papers and Biometric Voting Device (BVD) have been secured.

There is apparently some chaos amidst gun shots at some polling stations between supporters of the NPP and the NDC.
