Buhari condoles with Obama, Putin, XI Jinping over death of nationals

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Saturday in Abuja condemned Friday’s terrorist attacks on a hotel in Bamako, Mali, in which about 27 persons were killed.

The President in a statement issued by Mr Femi Adesina, his Special Adviser on Media, expressed his sympathy and that of Nigeria to families and countries of the victims of the dastardly act.

Buhari assured President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita and the people of Mali of the full support and solidarity of the Federal Government and people of Nigeria.

He said that as they mourned those who lost their lives, Nigeria would support all efforts to bringing the surviving perpetrators of the act to justice.

The President also extended his condolences to the governments and people of China, Russia, the United States and Belgium, whose nationals lost their lives in the callous attack.

President Buhari reiterated his call for an intensification of international cooperation against all known terrorist organisations, their collaborators and sponsors in view of the persistent terror attacks across the world.

According to him, Nigeria remains committed to deploying all necessary resources and working with friendly nations, and global organisations to speedily overcome the continuing threat of terrorism to world peace and security
