The killing of 12 people, mostly staff of satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo, in Paris has sparked rallies across the country and the world in support of the victims.

Thousands of people holding placards and stickers saying “Je Suis Charlie”, French for “I am Charlie” stood strong against terror at the Place de la Republique in Paris.

Rallies also took place in the French cities of Lyon,Toulouse, Bordeaux and Marseille as well as in European cities like Berlin, London and Lausanne.
The staff of Charlie Hebdo, along with two policemen, were killed by masked gunmen on Wednesday, January 7. Three suspects in the shooting have been identified as Cherif Kouachi,Said Kouachi and Hamyd Mourad.
French President, Francois Hollande has also declared a national day of mourning from midday today, January 8 2014.
