Police officer shot, died in Tacoma

A police officer in Tacoma, Washington has been reportedly shot and died after several minutes of battle to save the life.

Dozens of uniformed officers from multiple jurisdictions waited in silence at hospital

According to multiple reports,the police informed that the officer was shot while responding to domestic violence call.

It was also believed that the suspect is believed to be barricaded in the house where the police officer was shot.

A police spokeswoman confirmed that suspect in the police shooting had fired weapon several times, including possibly at police helicopter.

However, it was disclosed that no suspect has been taken into custody after the shooting of the police officer.

It was also reported that police advised that those near the scene should continue to shelter in place.

Several minutes after the shooting, the officer, who was shot earlier was reported to have died.

A police spokesperson said 'The community has suffered a great loss.'

More reports revealed that the officer fatally shot is the first Tacoma Police officer killed by gunfire since 1997.
