At least 11 Egyptian soldiers were killed in a car bomb attack on a military post in North Sinai on Wednesday, security sources said.

North Sinai is the epicentre of an insurgency. Militants have launched many attacks killing hundreds of police and soldiers. The most active group is the Islamic State-affiliated Sinai Province.
Clashes between militants and soldiers have been going on in the region for hours, the sources said.
