You can now add Snapchat-style drawings to your pictures
This is just another Snapchat hallmark feature which Facebook has borrowed in recent months.
The app has added image doodling on its Android app, with an iOS version coming soon. The feature lets you do Snapchat-style drawing on top of images and videos which you send in WhatsApp.
Alongside the doodling feature, the new features also lets you drop emojis and colored text on top of images, offers front-facing flash support, and a zoom option for video recording.
This is just another Snapchat hallmark feature which Facebook has borrowed in recent months, the most recent of which was copying Snapchat's Stories feature and introducing it on Instagram.
That’s why it is not surprising that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who once tried to acquire Snapchat, is worried about the rising competition in the mobile messaging world.
Inasmuch as both Facebook's Messenger and WhatsApp both have more than 1 billion monthly active users, way more than Snapchat, Evan Spiegel's company still poses a threat.
There are two reasons for this: Snapchats growth has been substantial so far and the company's trademark of sharing rougher, on-the-go images and videos not designed for nostalgia - content that does fit in Facebook's collective memory play.
That's why Facebook has been forced to introduce a bunch of features which seem to be more popular with younger smartphone owners, even if they go against its traditional model.
