Tech company has launched in Thika, its third Kenyan city

Mombasa was the second city in which Uber would establish its presence in Kenya - after Nairobi.

In January 2015, Uber launched in Kenya and the ride sharing service became an instant hit amongst Nairobi's expat community and its tech-savvy citizens.

Since then, the company rolled out various features aimed at adapting to the Kenyan market, chief of which includes the addition of cash payment options.

The company has also rolled out Uber for Business targeting corporates in Kenya who could want to use the service for their companies.

In March 2016, the company rolled out operations in the coastal city of Mombasa, part of its aggressive expansion into the African market. Mombasa was the second city in which Uber would establish its presence in Kenya - after Nairobi.

Now, the company is set to launch in a third city ion Kenya, Thika. As part of its promotional activities to mark its entry into the city, all Uber rides, to, from, or within Thika will get 20% off for this week. The offer is valid till Sunday at midnight.
