Togo telecom a holding company of mobile operator Togo cellulaire- Togocel is going through a rebranding phase. The government of togo officially announced that they are going to pump in funds to revamp the ailing National carrier.

According to the post and digital minister Cina Lawson, the whole infrastructure of togocel will be overhauled to meet the latest trend in the telecommunication industry. He said that togocel will be positioned to offer world class services after its overhaul and equipment upgrade.

Over the years the togo's national carrier has been a laughing stock in togo due to poor services. Allegations of misappropriation of funds and nepotism have been thrown around. The government says they are putting a stop to all the negative press by bringing in a new management that will spearhead the provision of quality telephony and internet services.

One of the new management’s focus will be to provide fast internet services and also manage the budget of the telco. Citizens say they are sceptical about government’s announcement, as this is not the first time these sort of great ideas have been announced.
