Paragon Media is launching a new social platform for entrepreneurs

To host a store on SWAG Marketplace is free and the platform says there will be no monthly or hidden charges.

SWAG Marketplace

Paragon Media, a Nigerian media house, has just launched a social marketplace that will offer deals in female fashion and accessories, hotels, and events.

Nigeria's ecommerce space is said to still be very open to many other players and it seems that is what Paragon Media hopes to capitalize on with SWAG Marketplace, its social marketplace.

Sellers will also be able to provide goods and services, merchandise and so on. To host a store on SWAG Marketplace is free and the platform says there will be no monthly or hidden charges.

There will also be user-curated content and users will be able to chat with sellers via private messages, similar to what Jumia Market (formerly Kaymu) does on its platform.

From what I understand, SWAG Marketplace is looking to offer a combination of services currently being offered by platforms such as DealDey and Jumia Market as part of its value proposition.

That in itself is not a bad idea or concept for an e-commerce platform but how the platform hopes to deliver this value proposition to the end user. Traditionally speaking, e-commerce platforms have all come forward with great concepts and value proposition but fail in the delivery of their services.

Anyway, Paragon Media is running a promotion as part of the push for the SWAG Marketplace platform and someone is going to win a KIA Rio from a raffle draw. Shop owners will also be able to participate in the draw.
