MasterCard has announced that applications for its 2016 Start Path Global program are now open. Start Path Global is MasterCard's worldwide program for innovative early stage companies.

Since 2014 the company has been working with a growing number of early stage startups with unique solutions across fintech and commerce.

The Start Path Global program is based on what has worked best for its portfolio of companies: more flexibility, more customizatrion, and no distractions, says the company.

Key features of the program include a six month virtual programme tailored to the individual needs of your company, no requirements to move from home country, no equity taken up front (but an option to participate in your next round), immediate access to 60+ MasterCard experts, connections to potential customers – global corporate brands spanning banking, retail, tech and telecoms, and funds provided so that you have no out of pocket expenses.

The Start Path Global program is for early stage companies that have already raised investment, looking for support to scale, targeting the fintech and broader commerce space, and can benefit from partnering with MasterCard and accessing its ecosystem.

MasterCard will hold a pitch day on May 10 and 11 in Toronto and provides support to travel. The immersion week for selected companies will commence June 20.
