Panelists discuss how social media can aid traveling

On the day two of the Social Media Week Lagos 2015, panelists discuss the importance of social media in travelling round and exploring Africa

At the on-going Social Media Week Lagos 2015, panelists at a session discussed our social media can aid traveling across Africa.

The speakers of the session-#SMWTravelAfrica Defying Space & Time: Social Media Taking You (and your business) Places- was Adetunji Adegbesan, Lecturer and founder of Gidi Mobile Ltd, Ayo Oyewole, CEO Afro Tourism and Marek Zmyslowski, Managing Director, Jovago who is the sponsor of the session.

The panelists mentioned the importance of social media in travelling round and exploring Africa.

“When you travel round Africa, you need to capture the moments and share with others who will love to embark on such journey,” Adetunji Adegbesan said.

“If you want to get this generation, you have to use what they use, which is social media; share your personal experiences with them so they can know more about the services,” Ayo Oyewole suggested.

The panelists also revealed that social media can help advertise your products and service to people across the world which will inspire them to to travel and build memories far from home, and in the process, put Africa in the spotlight for foreign investment.

Many entrepreneurs have found their business partners and potential markets through social media.

“With social media space and time can be defined by sharing memories, experiences and adventures through social media, which will help draw worldwide attention to Africa,” another panellist Marek Zmyslowski, Managing Director, Jovago  said.
