The digital Publishing revolution in Nigeria has been quick and, some would say, massive in Nigeria, especially with the gradual phase out of native forms of publishing.

At the Pulse Nigeria Masterclass event which took place at this year's Social Media Week Lagos which kicked off today, experts from Pulse Nigeria spoke about Leading the Digital Publishing Revolution in Nigeria.

Panelists at the Pulse Masterclass were Osagie Alonge, Editor-in-Chief, Pulse.ng; Rich Tanksley, Head, Pulse Nigeria; and Feyi Olubodun, Insight Communications. The panel was moderated by Ibukun Onitiju, Head, Sales and Marketing, Ringier Digital Marketing (RDM).

The panelists spoke on the state of digital publishing in Nigeria, the challenges facing the digital publishing industry, and ways in which said challenges have been overcome.

"If you want to run a digital publishing company, you have to run around the clock," said Osagie Alonge, talking about the hardwork needed to be successful in the world of digital publishing.

"If the biggest boys in media are producing 200 stories, Pulse.ng aims to publish 10% more stories."

Rich Tanksley spoke on the progress which Pulse Nigeria has made in four short years, hitting almost 3 million unique pageviews, and taking in a revenue increase of 100% year-on-year.

The third panelist, Feyi Olubodun, spoke about the challenges of converting and marrying seemingly native media with emerging digital trends.

The Masterclass event rounded up with a Q&A session with the panelists thoroughly going through the audience's questions and breaking the down.
