US Court throws out South Korean tech giant's lawsit against Apple

Unfortunately for the South Korean tech giant, the U.S. Federal Circuit Court of Appeals rejected it’s bid to reconsider a previous ruling largely backing Apple.

Samsung is the world second largest mobile phone maker

Samsung recently attempted to have the damages it was ordered to pay Apple rescinded so the company filed an appeal with the US federal court.

Unfortunately for the South Korean tech giant, the U.S. Federal Circuit Court of Appeals rejected it’s bid to reconsider a previous ruling largely backing Apple — leaving the U.S. Supreme Court as the only legal option left for the company to try to overturn hundreds of millions of dollars in damages it now owes Apple in their ongoing patent feud.

Samsung had urged the Federal Circuit court to re-try the case with its full 12-judge roster, arguing that a three-judge panel had erred earlier in the year when it upheld a jury’s verdict that the South Korean tech giant’s smartphones and tablets infringed on Apple’s design patents.

Samsung now has to either file an appeal with the US Supreme Court, or pay the damages  it was ordred to pay to Apple in the first verdict.
