Mobile phone maker denies plans to produce Android phones

Nokia signed an agreement with Microsoft not to enter the mobile phone business till 2016.

In a swift change of story, Nokia has released and official statement denying its decision to return to mobile phone manufacturing.

You will recall, that Nokia China’s president confirmed that the mobile phone maker will be moving its manufacturing facility and research and development department to China.

In an official statement Nokia said: "Nokia notes recent news reports claiming the company communicated an intention to manufacture consumer handsets out of a R&D facility in China. These reports are false. Nokia reiterates it currently has no plans to manufacture or sell consumer handsets."

This official statement from Nokia has put all speculations to rest.
