Association reveals 33,572 .ng domain names have been registered in 2015

Going by the 2014 report submitted by NiRA, the association recorded 18,870 registered domains, 11,907 renewed and 765 transferred.

NiRA reveals 33,572 .ng domain names have been registered in Nigeria for 2015

The Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA), has revealed that 33,572 .ng domain names have reportedly been registered, renewed or transferred with them between January and November 2015.

The number collated, 33,572,  is more than the number, 31,542 which was recorded through out the year 2014, but with a very slight increase of 2030 extra names this year.

President of NiRA, Sunday Afolayan revealed to the Guardian, saying:

“We are hopeful that with full accreditation of more Registrars, this would provide more opportunities for creating awareness of the .ng brand.”

According to the Guardian, NiRA has also accredited four extra domain registrars in this year, added to the 47 it had accredited, last year.
