Video-on-demand giant shows off new logo
The new logo is already up on the platform's Facebook and Twitter accounts.
The new logo is already up on the platform's Facebook and Twitter accounts. The new logo format makes better use of space in a vertical and square format.
Back in 2014, Netflix revamped its logo in a similar way when it switched from a DVD-era style logo to a flatter, more minimal design.
"We are introducing a new element into our branding with an N icon. The current Netflix logo will still remain, and the icon will start to be incorporated into our mobile apps along with other product integrations in the near future," said Netflix, in response to the changes, according to a report by TheNextWeb, who contacted Netflix on the changes.
Netflix was established in 1997 with its headquarters in Los gatos, California, USA. Netflix has 81 million subscribers worldwide as at April, 2016, including more than 46 million in just the US alone. It also launched in Africa earlier in 2016.
Logo revamp or not, Netflix continues to remain the world's leading content-on-demand platform. Last week, the company secured a big win in the US with a court ruling on the much-talked about net neutrality rules posited by the US FCC.
