Lumia range of phones welcomes newest member

Microsoft has steadily been increasing the members of the Lumia range of phones since it purchased Nokia, with a host of relatively affordable offerings.

Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual SIM

On Tuesday, Microsoft unveiled a Lumia phone, the 540 dual SIM. The phone features the new Windows 8.1 OS and boasts a 5-inch display with crafted design details. The Lumia 540 dual SIM also comes with Microsoft services such as Skype and Office out of the box. It also boasts Microsoft’s new wide angle camera feature that captures more of the action thanks to a 5 megapixel front facing camera and an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash.

The phone can also be upgraded to the new Windows 10 OS, which Microsoft has in the works, when it launches later this year. It also sports quality crafted hardware which includes a removable but durable back cover with a luminous, layered design. Also, the phone comes with a personalizable home screen as well as consumer favorite apps such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Whatsapp with many more available from the Windows Phone store.

Microsoft’s OneDrive storage service is also available on the Lumia 540 dual SIM with up to 30GB of available storage space. The smart Dual SIM also allows users to personalize different profiles across both SIM platforms for more effective daily communication.

JoHarlow, Vice president for Phones at Microsoft, said “The Lumia 540 Dual SIM is a testament to our passion for product-making that is reflected across the entire Lumia product portfolio and will continue with future devices,” in a statement regarding the launch of the newest member of the Microsoft’s Lumia range of Phones. “With the Lumia 540 Dual SIM, we’ve made it possible to deliver a smartphone with strong design and technology credentials that is also fun to use, and incredible value for money.”
