Here are 3 options for the missing headphone jack

There is no denying that Apple fans are seriously pissed off that the headphone jack is going away (and we should all be pissed as well because the rest of the industry will follow), but that is not the end of the world.

If you fall into this category of people, here are three options to consider when you do purchase your iPhone 7:

- Lightning port headphones: As hard as it is to believe, there are already a bunch of Lightning port headphones on the market. Plugging into a Lightning port means that the headphones can draw power from your iPhone and the sound quality will not suffer at all on its way to your ears.

- Bluetooth headphones: There are literally loads of these available in a range of sizes and prices. The downside of these is that Bluetooth headphones do not deliver the best quality audio. On the positive though, there are no dongles to lose, no chord to untangle, and they will work with a wide range of devices.

- Use the dongle: Apple has said it will include a dongle in the new iPhone 7 so that you can use your existing headphones with the Lightning port. Motorola already did something similar on two of its Moto Z models which do not have headphone jacks (Yes, Apple is not the first OEM to remove the headphone jack). This dongle is the best option, really - until you lose it and have to get another one.

So there you have it! All hope is not lost for all you hardcore headphone jack fans - although I suggest you start prepping your mind for its inevitable death. Let me know if you have any other options that I may not know of.
