Instagram has just launched another Snapchat-type feature for Stories — Face Filters.
New update brings face filters and a rewind camera to photo-sharing site
These new tools and features will be available as part of Instagram version 10.21 for iOS and Android.
The filters are exactly like those you are used to on Snapchat. The only difference is that in Instagram’s iteration, you do not need to long press on your face to bring up the filters.
Once you open the Stories camera, the filters are there. You only have to select the one you prefer. The face filters also work with Boomerang, Instagram’s 3-second video tool.
Those are not the only creative tools Instagram just launched, though. There is also a new rewind camera format that will be next to the hands-free and Boomerang camera tools. Like its name suggests, you will be able to shoot videos in reverse.
Hashtag stickers are also available now. You just have to click the sticker icon at the top right corner of your screen, select the hashtag sticker, customize and add to your story. People watching your stories will be able to click on the hashtag text or sticker to explore related posts.
Lastly, there is a new eraser brush in the drawing tools section. You will be able to erase other stuff you’ve drawn and play around with removing color. After taking a photo or video, you will be able to select a drawing tool, then tap and hold the screen to fill it up with a particular color. You can then creatively use the eraser brush to reveal parts of the photo or video underneath.
These new tools and features will be available as part of Instagram version 10.21 for iOS in the AppleAppStore and for Android in the GooglePlayStore.
