However, if you do get to use this feature, you will be redirected to the retailer's website to make the actual purchase, rather than buying directly from Instagram.
This can be seen as Instagram's way of gently easing into a future where e-commerce will become as much a mainstay as its social aesthetic.
At the time of writing this article, there is no information on when the feature will be available on Android or which parts of the world it will be available.
Instagram has recently launched various new features including the Snapchat-cloned Insta Stories, pinch and zoom on photos, and the Instagram Business offering which offers analytics and other services.
Recent rumors and leaks have also suggested that the Facebook-owned photo sharing site could be planning to incorporate a live stream feature as well.
