Tech giant to curb sharing of sexually explicit content on Blogger
Google is from next month banning adult content from websites hosted on Blogger the company has announced
Google who just updated regulations governing the use of media on its blogging service will from next month ban sexually explicit content from website hosted on Blogger.
According to a company support page for Blogger, starting March 23, 2015, it will be impossible to publicly share anything -images and video- that is sexually explicit or show graphic nudity on Blogger.
This new regulation will not lead to the deletion of any content rather blogs with sexually explicit content will be made private after Monday, March 23 the company support page also said.
The private content can only be seen by the owner or administrator of the blog and people who the owner has shared the blog with.
“We’ll still allow nudity if the content offers a substantial public benefit, for example in artistic, educational, documentary, or scientific contexts,” according to the post.
For any blogs set up after March 23, Google may remove the blog or take other action if it includes adult content that breaches its rules.
The current policy allows sexual material (so long as it is legal) on a blog, which is then marked with an ‘adult’ warning for any visitors.
