It is unclear what caused the outage which first occurred around 1:10am ET. However, the Facebook-owned mobile messaging service, WhatsApp, was working fine as usual.
It is unclear what caused the outage which first occurred around 1:10am ET. However, the Facebook-owned mobile messaging service, WhatsApp, was working fine as usual.
The outage lasted for at least one hour before they were both restored.
The last time Facebook experienced this sort of issue was last year September, when the social network went down twice that month. The most recent one before today's outage lasted 15 minutes.
