The Nigerian Defence's official website was hacked and defaced today by unknown cyber attackers.

According to the Defence headquarters spokesperson, General Chris Olukolade, the website has since been restored after a "Network Breach".

However, a suspected Islamist, Ima Sadiq, has claimed responsibility for the hack via Twitter.

The Nigerian Defence have since acknowledged Sadiq's claims, saying that the hack was carried out "ISIS-style attempt," by an Indonesian Boko Haram/ISIS member using a Twitter handle named Mansiak k4sur.

Mansiak k4sur is also said to be responsible for the defacing of 2 major police and NASA websites in the U.S.
